HAVE YOU TRIED JOURNALING? (COMPOSITION BOOKS I-IV)

These books serve as a form of response art to a personal/professional question of what types of art therapy practices work for me/what might work for individuals in therapy? Personally, I dislike journaling. When i try to write in a journal, I find myself hyperaware of an observer, an invisible audience who may some day read my private thoughts. This makes my writing inauthentic and curated to be palatable, readable, and understandable. Creating these journals helped me process my first year of grad school so far, and reflect on some thoughts I’ve been having by “journaling” in a different way.

Journal I - cross stitch on plastic canvas
Journal II - needle felting
Journal III - machine stitching on hand painted canvas
Journal IV - crochet
